That sense of health and vigor I felt last night kicked back in. I have started a load of laundry and I have some hopes of actually doing most of the laundry today. What slows things down, of course, is the length of time it takes to do each load of laundry. While I really like the new washer, being a front loading washer means it is slower. Then again, even the old washer took an hour or so to do a complete load. The thing is the old washer did larger loads. I am hoping, though, that the front load washer will be less damaging to my clothing. A mid-point but well researched shirt can last many years even using the top-load washer. I hope for a bit more out of a front loader. When I find good items I try to buy enough to have several weeks of wear or more with a typical type and brand, then have several off types of clothing for variety. Ending with up to two months of outer clothing and perhaps a few weeks to a month of underwear type clothing. Probably too much, but then some of my clothes probably ought to be retired.
As well, I might find myself out using the weed whip or picking up sticks, perhaps even both. Watching the time and taking breaks as needed should see to a very good day. It will depend on what I can physically find myself able to do. I think picking up sticks first is the goal, it is less likely to cause any real strain or leave me finding myself broken down should I get into the task and not be minding my conditions. But if that goes well, and if there remains time, the weed whip might yet be utilized. I am so excited! I know it may seem silly, but I personally really enjoy whipping weeds. It is a cool boytoy. I know, others have bigger, badder, and more expensive toys. But this... I have this and I like it. It is mine. I... like to work, beyond that. I like starting, but more finishing, projects. Cutting the lawn, while a pain at times, is also a beautiful pain. Trimming ahead will make that job of mowing, if I can get to it, so much smoother.
So very excited! It may seem strange, but I first need to work up the gumption to take a shower first. While showering before I go out and get dirty may seem foolish, going outside of my house has being presentable as a requirement. Even just going into my yard. Silly, foolish, stubborn, whatever. Leave me the heck alone, my home, my rules. At least for myself. I merely give unclean visitors the googly eyes about not following my rules (other than drinking from a container... I will pour the contents of that and any other container they attempt that with down the drain). Bah! So excited I am blathering. Time for a shower and getting to it. Move, out of my way... Time to scoot!
What... happened? Don't care, time to get to it, use it before it disappears. If I do well, I might take myself out to dinner to celebrate. I am so excited in this sense of function... I am hoping... if it all works out... I might finish the trimming and get to mowing tonight or tomorrow, before I head in for the sleep study! Later. I GET to work? Who would have thought that has always been my simple intent? Then again, I am willing to take what might harm me in order to do so. I simply haven't found anyone willing to offer it. Bah! Again, later.
Update: About 20 to 30 minutes of light work saw me through for a bit. So, a break while the first load finished, then a new load in and 15 more minutes break, and out I go. I should be able to finish the sticks tonight. And, if there is anything left, do some trimming. Having horses and a llama in the fenced area takes care of 70% of the trimming. While the lawn, in most places, isn't quite buffalo or elephant grass, it is a good sized dog grass. Anywhere from up to my knees or up to my waist, I may have to use the weed whip on some of the longer areas first. At least I know the whip is a serious contender and does well. Imagine what would happen if gas were to be rationed for food stuffs or simply became unavailable. Sickles? Or what? I am sure people wouldn't want high grasses up to their house. It is a fire and varmint risk.
Well, the enthusiasm is there, at least, and the clarity. The body will take some conditioning. But if I feel like this more often that will not be a problem. Just feeling good enough to want to go outside, having the focus to think through even simple things, it is fantastic. Give me another shot of that stuff. Later.
Final Work Update: I did get all of the sticks picked up and moved to a central location. What I am supposed to do with all of it I am not yet sure. While I can keep some of the twigs, the leaves and needles just aren't really worth keeping. After that, I hung up a load of laundry, put another group through, and will finish those tonight. No more laundry, not tonight, save for any folding or hanging that might be required. With breaks, work, breaks and more work, I finally started up the weed whip. I filled the gas tank, primed it, and got it going. I did just a bit of work with it to know the thing is definitely running. Then, of course, took a break. After several other laundry jobs and breaks, I finally did get out and get going with the whip. I did about forty by ten feet of the higher grasses on the side of the driveway farthest from the house. I also did a a twenty by seven foot section between the house and drive and along the sidewalk which ends that piece of land. Well, with several breaks in there mind you. Actually just two breaks. While sweating and jangled a bit from holding onto the lawn Harley, I am feeling pretty good. Actually the jangle is rather good. It's like a motorized masseuse.
I don't know what I can get to tomorrow. I can't look that far ahead for now. For now though, I am pleased. I am about to call my friend and see if he wants company. When I go into town I could always pick him up something from wherever I am going and stop in with food for a visit. He might not feel up to it though. It would be a good time to talk about our next shooting foray. After this week, assuming Thursday and Friday can be off days, perhaps Friday or Saturday would be good days to shoot. It would be nice to test the ammunition I have reloaded.
Good night.
