My problem with amazon and silverlight (or whatever) is not because of limits regarding Pale Moon. I tried to use IE with the same results. I suppose I will simply have to do more digging, for a workaround, different version, or other method altogether. Without this I have even less reason to pay for amazon prime. To reinstate I have to pay by the 29th. But I'm not, probably, going to continue if I can't watch downloads and their free movies. They don't have great movies, though once in a while something was worth watching. Two day delivery is hit and miss, both to what is allowed and if what is allowed makes it. Sometimes, not always. It's not as if I am in a great hurry, usually. Plus prices on amazon have to be compared with local. Even at the same price, it is easier if I am going to town anyway, and cheaper, to return locally. If the price is better, and I have seen 20% cheaper locally sometimes, that just can't be beat.
I haven't gotten to the tart yet. I may not, either. Perhaps I will just go with fresh crust, make a tart sort of thing tomorrow, and hand it out the door as supper is delivered. Yeah... I don't want to eat that much sweet stuff, but I don't want to waste what is ready either. Tonight I may light up the grill and put a couple various cuts from the recent hog meat. I put a couple out, a shoulder chop and regular chops. Something tasty to eat, better if grilled. Easy to cook too.
I realized, after mistaking the timing, that I am a little off. I knew I wasn't working really well before that, but missing an hour, even in the mind, is considered a major flaw. Oh, I do that. But when I do, I know I am not doing well. I have to keep track of these things, so as to know when to, and when not to, do something a bit more complicated. I don't always know. And, sometimes, I have to attempt to go beyond that. It depends on how dire the consequences and how immediate the need. Risk and reward assessment, according to cost.
I did have the peach pie. I wasn't particularly hungry, but I was curious and there was still room. It came out okay. I remind, these aren't sugar pies, they are fruit pies. As such, I think they are good as I can make them. It's just that my memory of fruit hand pies is of exceedingly sweet things. While I do not prefer them exceedingly sweet, my mind only has that to work with from memory, so... okay is about as good as it can muster. Still, they slipped past the teeth, over the tongue, and down the gullet pretty quickly. Yeah, not bad. The ladies who tried them enjoyed them as well.
I might finish the dishes, handle some or all of the dried laundry, do some cleaning in the kitchen, and make dinner. But that would be about it. I won't swear to any of it, though I suspect some or most of it will be done. Tomorrow a bit of a clean up, getting the trash out, and maybe sweeping and mopping. Monday was going to be a shooting day, but with garage clean up, I will probably move shooting to Tuesday, if the weather is good. Otherwise I will just stop in and see my friend, unless the weather will be clearing up within a few days. After that, I am hoping to get back at cleaning the cave. I really want to push over into uncharted territories with that. I want to go further, cleaning on my own, than I have gone before, and get to steam cleaning the living room, then tearing into my bedroom, then the guest room.
Then a break, maybe a trip somewhere as a reward. Hmm... I wonder if Desert Cat could handle a visitor, for a weekend, in a month or so. He won't even have to stop working. I'm not that kind of guest. Though if he wants to, or cut work a bit, that's quite fine too. Beer, menfolk chat, laughing at and with, and just catching up. I think I make his ears bleed, but he seems enjoys that once a year or three. Hmm, if I could bring a package of the beef and pork I got. Enough for several meals, so that it might encourage him to do likewise. All, of course, assuming I have the three rooms cleaned, steam cleaned, and put back together. Ready for work in the en suit bathroom shortly after.
Might as well plan while I am down. Might not be so confused when I get back to it. Later.
I've never used the streaming video feature and I still subscribe to Prime. Then again, the savings on 2 day shipping pays for itself fast, given how much shit I buy from Amazon in a year.
ReplyDeleteOh, missed that last paragraph. I'm seriously (75% plus at this point) planning to do Saguaro Man again this year. Might not be with the RV and likely not with Miss Poopyhead in that case, but the timing may be about right. Same place as last year, extended weekend at the beginning of May.
ReplyDeleteThis year, it seems as if I will know damn near half of the people attending (realistically maybe a quarter, but still...) I've not stood still, and this weird, wonderful life that has become mine since Burning Man continues.
Just a thought, if Burning Man itself may not work for you this year.
How much are tickets to SM, again? It might be doable in with the rest. Especially with gas prices down. I do order much from amazon. It's just that faster shipping isn't a priority, necessarily. All I have is time.
ReplyDeleteHere is a link to the Saguaro Man tickets page:

Tickets are $65 and go on sale Feb. 1
Thanks! New machine, remember. All of my links are gone. Yeah, I suppose I could try to figure out how to connect the old harddrive, connect up the old machine and try to pull data, or even attempt to find a new(er) video card, but... Actually, I am planning on such tinkery, but I'm not quite in the shape to mess with it right now.
ReplyDeleteWell, but there it is, the link and the price. Sorry it took me a day or so to scare up the info.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? It takes me a week to get out of bed sometimes. Around these parts, a day is fast. Sometimes too fast.
