.
Wasn't sure if it was Friday, this morning, or Saturday. Up too many
double days in a row, but with a few not? I mean, most of this week, I
awoke on one day, and went to bed on another. But not all days.
So... being certain isn't a surety. All good.
No, I didn't get a shower in. Just... too tired. And afraid, of
redoing the patch. Just... not yet. Wow, just from thinking about
it (?), I got as if a shock through it. It doesn't want to be
touched. I don't want to touch it. But... I will. Probably
when I wake, later in the day.
The only way I will get to church is if I manage this, probably today.
Or I'll have to skip until next week. Which... might happen. Not
preferred. But lots of things aren't preferred.
A few pieces of chicken, and some coleslaw, is keeping me fed. Fatted
coffee and water fills out the rest. I ate six pieces today... was a bit
hungrier? Well, and went to bed shortly after the first group, and slept
for... six to ten hours? So... not... sure that counts.
I'll keep at things. Still mostly just sitting in my chair. But I
keep thinking about hitting laundry, dishes, and such. Maybe, in time,
soon?
On the good side, it has been warm enough to keep the window near my bed
open. Fresh air is fantastic. If I could be sure the day is going
to be warm, I should open up the downstairs too. But it has to be warm
enough to go without the furnace. And, I have to be in shape to be sure
to shut things up at the end of the day.
I'm not quite ready to guarantee such things. But close.
Pieces, bits, better, and better. The bruise on my side looks to be
about six by three inches, as a base, with an three inch extension from the
base of my side. I can't remember what it was, but they measured it the
last time I was in. I think... because it was healing so fast. The
doctor was... a bit... amazed... impressed. At least one of the nurses
was as well. The other one was too, but tried to... hide it. In
disbelief?
If I have it right, at that time, it was more like nine inches by six inches,
in a rough oval, with about four inches puffed out from the surface.
Now, these are all rough measurements. Should have measured it that
first time, but no one that it would... be moving much at all. The
doctor was talking a year before full recovery. So... yeah.
I am using compression on it, when and as I can. The bad thing?
It's right where my underwear waistband should be. So, I either have to
tuck that down a bit, or try to ride it up over. Even compression I use
is... tricky. I have to fidget with it all, frequently. Definitely
every time I go to the bathroom. Still, if I am right, that is a
solid... at least... 30% improvement over about a week ago. And Lord
only knows how much from the start. But I'm guessing... 70% to 80% from
the start. Yea, it... was mongo. Like a third of a decent sized
watermelon, to start. Now it's like a third of a small watermelon.
Well, and all the blood from around my waist is gone. That... also
surprised me. I thought it was going to stay bruised looking for
ages. Even the bruise doesn't look too bad, just a bit of a dark patch,
deeper under the skin, now.
Oh, and I have been doing really well with medication. Started brushing
my teeth two to four times a day. Showering every or every other day
again, and not hobbling, if still a bit weary. Not bad, not at
all. I just wish my knee would... catch up a bit faster. It's not
terrible. As the lump goes, it is healing faster. But it's clearly
a few weeks behind the rest. Some healing just takes more time.
Well... on to bed, for however long. Dreams, of women, of fighting, of
death and back? Yeah. When I hurt, it... those things... Not
saying anything from some lines are true. Only... well, not true
necessarily as presented. I've been in more hand-to-hand than most even
boxers. And, unregulated, without refs or coaches or even fair-minded
other combatants around. Rolling deadly dice, many times. So,
there... is definitely that. Anyway... on to bed. I almost hope
it's women, in my dreams, tonight. Though... fighting is pretty good
too. Even when it was my turn to lose, die.
Goodnight.
