I finally slept as I needed. Longer? I... just don't remember. A few texts woke me, in the early afternoon. But, okay. I wouldn't have been awaken by them if I wasn't ready. Something about more chicken. Oh, that stuff is helping. I'll tell you, even if it isn't perfect food, more if it is higher in protein, with some good fat... or even bad probably in this case, while healing it is absolutely a good thing.
That bruise has, I would say, gone to a third of what it was a week ago? Or am I just... imagining it? I... will find out when I go in. They measured the thing, the first time they saw it. And I would guess that was at, or nearly at, peak size. As well, the 'flat tire' around my waist, from weight loss? Was full of blood. It looked like a storm, going over an equator. Dark, lots of it, probably a six inch band, give or take depending. All of that is gone. Even the bruising on top of the bump is pretty much gone, mostly.
The knee still has a lump, if much smaller. The knee is still the most stiff, and difficult. The ankle has some minor stiffness left to it. The wounds on the hand are almost completely gone. The bigger knee wound is waiting on the bump to heal first, but is... doing... something. The little wound on the leg will pop clean soon. The elbow is doing better. The shoulder joints are doing better.
There is a definite limp to the left side of my body. It's still out of trim. But is... seventy percent better? Look, that bruise alone? My doctor was talking about it taking a year. How... long has it been? Even a month? Now, it isn't finished. But I'd say it's between a fifth and a tenth of what it was. Still fully packed, still feels like a ham, but not a three to four pound one, say half a pound.
I am healing at a pace, and food has doubled that down. If the healing has hurt a bit more for the accelerated pace. I'll... take the pain, any day, over slower healing.
Like I said, my doctor was talking about the bruise lasting a year. I'm betting money two more months absolute tops? At the pace it is going, very possibly half that. I was able, for the first time, last night, to sleep on that side. I'm usually a side sleeper. I have been having to sleep on my left side, and back. I... hate sleeping on my back. But... had to do what I had to do. Didn't sleep on that side all night, just... could roll on it in turn, if also still using my back so as not to... aggravate... that issue too much.
Waking a bit rough. Rested, but I did a number on myself. So glad nothing broke. My bones must be healthy and solid. Heck, even tendons and such must be... dense. And, we all know I have a thick skull. *grins* Hey, if I have to live with it, I might as well have some benefits from it?
A shower, shortly. I... am stalling, at this point. But it will happen. Later.
