The shower was easier than I thought. Even washing the wounds. No problems. Binding the knee, cleaning the old wound with saline and sterile gauze, both went well. Packing the old wound with the honey poultice and adding the packing bandage went really well. I thought that part would hurt.
Now... putting compression socks back on? Silent screams. That was finished ten minutes ago, and it's still as if I poured some gas in, and lit it. I... will give it more time to settle, next time. But I did need compression. My legs are bloating, and I'm adding a good deal of water weight again. But... I... can let the bandage and honey goo settle a bit first, next time. Oh my word.
Trying not to hold my breath for too long.
The knee is looking better. It's taking the second longest. And the old wound? Well, while it doesn't look much smaller, it looked... clean... raw. Rather than having... stuff in it. Oh, he'll probably debride a bit, anyway. But there won't be as much as there was either of the last two times. A much cleaner wound site... if it remains as it looked today.
Good news, news, and pain. I don't even know why I don't make sounds when I am quietly screaming. No body can hear. It isn't even a pride thing. It's... just... well... making noise could be dangerous. Even for an apex predator? Look around. There are... a lot of us. And not all of are... civil. I would bet, even a bigger bull bear in the woods? Keeps his pain to himself... if he is wise.
Still, it's done. One or two more changes, before I see the doctor next. Ugh. Double ugh. Times like these almost make me wish I still drank. Problem is, drinking isn't good for wounds, and only so-so in truth even for pain. So... yeah... no. Later.

Fifty two minutes after posting, I'm... giving up, taking compression off. I am hoping it... eases off now. Oh my God, that hurts like few things I can remember. Ah... painpills. Maybe that will help. Perhaps I can... stop with the silent shrieks. In a bit. Oh...
